Bruichladdich's Italian Collection consists of six whiskies distilled in 1993 and then aged for fourteen years in ex-bourbon barrels.
Several months of aging in barrels from the finest Italian wines. The "Italian Collection" hit the market in 2007 and each of the whiskies included in it was a limited edition of 3,000 bottles. Bolgheri is located in Tuscany and is one of the most prestigious wine-producing regions in Italy. The barrels used for the Bruichladdich edition come from a vineyard belonging to the Baja family, which grows the following grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Syrah.
Aroma: delicate citrus, cherries, plums, vanilla and vine leaves.
Taste : fruity sweetness, bananas, cherries, blueberries, blackcurrants, delicate notes of oak and vanilla and lumps of sea salt.
Finish: medium long, pleasantly warming, a basket of fruit and a pinch of vanilla.
