Product description
Nomad Outland Whisky debuted in 2014 and represents a new generation of Scottish blends.
It is the creation of Whyte & Mackay blender Richard Paterson and Louis Miguel Trillo and Antonio Flores, responsible for the production of González Byass sherry. The Nomad formula contains 25 malts and 6 grain whiskies aged for 5 to 8 years. After the blending process, the whisky is placed in sherry casks for around 3 years, then leaves Scotland to spend an additional year in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks in Jerez, Spain. As the maturation of the whisky takes place partly outside Scotland, it cannot be labelled as “Scotch whisky”, hence the term “Outland”.
Nose: rich, raisins, figs, dates, caramel, toffee, honey-roasted almonds, cocoa, traces of wax and leather.
Palate: strong sherry tones, raisins, oranges, fig jam, cappuccino, crème brûlée, a touch of cinnamon and nutmeg and a light nutty note.
Finish : medium long, with notes of caramel, honey, dried fruit and slightly warming spices.
