Product description
Fèis Ìle (Islay Festival of Whisky and Music) is an annual event organised by the island's residents since 1986.
It promotes Islay, its culture and historical heritage. Each of the local distilleries participates in this event, usually honoring it with a special edition of whisky. In 2023, Bunnahabhain Distillery offered its guests three editions - Canasta Cask Matured, 1998 Vintage Manzanilla Cask Finish and Mòine Triple Cask 17 years old. The first of them, bottled without an age statement, was aged in rare Canasta sherry casks from the William & Humbert bodega. Previously, they held a blend of Oloroso sherry (75%) and Pedro Ximénez (25%). The whisky was bottled at 51.2% abv, natural color and without chill filtration.
Nose : rich sherry notes, chocolate cake, honey-roasted nuts, caramel, dried apricots, raisins, cinnamon, cloves and a hint of sea breeze.
Palate : vanilla pudding, maple syrup, dried figs and dates, stewed pears, orange peel, chocolate hazelnuts, salted caramel, cinnamon and oak.
Finish : quite long, with notes of red apples, blood oranges, milk chocolate, vanilla, caramel, sherry and oak.
