Product description
The Willetts came to America in the late 17th century and settled in eastern Maryland.
Exactly one hundred years later, they moved to Nelson County, Kentucky, where John David Willett (born 1841) became a partner and master distiller at Moore, Willett & Frenke Distillery. His descendants acquired a farm near Bardstown and began distilling in 1935. Since the late 1980s, the company has operated as Kentucky Bourbon Distillers, bottling and distributing whiskey. Distilling resumed in January 2012. Willett Family Estate Bottled Small Batch Rye contains whiskey distilled after 2012. Despite its young age, the drink exhibits a rich palette of aromas and flavors. The whiskey is bottled in small batches at barrel strength.
Nose : fresh herbs, grass, forest floor, apples, peaches, caramel, buttered rye bread and charred oak.
Palate : lemongrass, a handful of herbs from the garden, pine needles, toffee, caramel, banana cake, baked apples, a little pepper and oak.
