It is made at Woodford Reserve Distillery, in the state of Kentucky, based on five sources of exceptional flavor: limestone water, the finest grains for the mash (corn, barley, and rye), and long fermentation, distillation, and maturation processes perfected over decades.
This Kentucky bourbon is aged in new oak barrels and distilled three times to bring out the purity and richness of flavor.
History of the distillery
The history of Woodford Reserve Distillery begins in 1812: it is the birthplace of bourbon.The reputation of this distillery is based on heritage and fidelity to traditional recipes and methods.
It was there that James Crow perfected the "Sour Mash" process in 1838, which is still used today in the production of bourbon.
In 1995, Woodford Reserve Distillery was officially listed by the US government on the National Register of Historic Places.Five years later - in 2000 - it was recognized as a U.S. National Historic Landmark.
