Tobermory 21-year-old Oloroso Sherry Finish/ 46.3%/ 0.7l
- Tobermory Distillery is beautifully located on the Inner Hebridean Isle of Mull.
Product description
Tobermory is the only whisky producer on the Isle of Mull, the second largest island in the Inner Hebrides.
Its name comes from the Gaelic Tobar Mhoire, which translates to “Mary’s Well”. Centuries ago, right next to the settlement of Tobermory, today’s capital of the island (population around 900 souls), there was a well dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Since 1993, the distillery has been owned by Burn Stewart Distillers and produces around 800,000 litres of alcohol per year, using 80% of its potential. The whisky presented here, distilled on 16 December 1999, originally aged in refill casks, was poured into Oloroso sherry casks on 26 February 2015. This small batch edition was bottled with a natural colour and without chill filtration.
