Product description

Stork Club Distillery (originally called Spreewald Distillery) has been in operation since 2004.

Its headquarters is in Schlepzig, about 60 km south of Berlin. The plant produced various alcoholic beverages, but for several years its owners have focused on whiskey. Stork Club Rye is distilled from 100% German rye (partly malted) and aged mainly in American oak barrels for 3 to 5 years. Stork Club Rye has won several prestigious awards, including a gold medal at the Meininger International Spirits Awards. The limited edition presented here uses whiskey aged in first-fill bourbon barrels, German oak barrels (Napoleon German oak) and Laphroaig barrels.

Nose: slightly smoky, vanilla pudding, caramel, grilled pineapple, toasted rye bread, black pepper, mint leaf and a trace of burnt rubber.

Palate: honey, vanilla, caramel, smoked ham, black pepper, a mixture of dried herbs, a bit of hay, peat smoke and cigar ash.

Finish : quite long, with notes of vanilla, brown sugar, a bit of pepper, herbs and peat smoke in the background.
