Product description
Japanese blended malt whisky, made from distillates produced in the Land of the Rising Sun, is a virtually non-existent category.
In their blends, Japanese companies generally do not use products from domestic competitors, which is a common practice in Scotland. Hence, the market leaders, Suntory and Nikka, produce whiskies with a dozen (if not several dozen) profiles. In April 2015, the Chichibu and Komagatake distilleries exchanged fresh distillates and matured them in their own warehouses. In 2021, two groundbreaking blended malt editions were released: Chichibu x Komagatake (distillates aged in the Chichibu warehouse) and Komagatake x Chichibu (distillates aged in the Shinsu warehouse). The edition presented here consisted of 10,918 bottles.
