Product description
J. W. (Joseph Washington) Dant began distilling in Marion County, Kentucky around 1835.
Over time, sons joined the family business. The most successful was Joseph Bernard, creator of the Yellowstone brand, which gained huge popularity on the West Coast. During Prohibition, JW Dant bourbon was stored in a federally supervised warehouse of the Stitzel-Weller distillery in Louisville and sold under prescription as "medicinal whiskey". Today, it is a standard "old school" bourbon produced by Heaven Hill Distillery. JW Dant Bottled-in-Bond is a bourbon aged at least 4 years and bottled at 50% ABV. In 2019, JW Dant's descendants began construction of the Log Still Distillery in Nelson County, Kentucky.
