Glenlossie Distillery is located in Speyside, near Elgin, and has three pairs of stills capable of distilling over 3.5 million litres of spirit per year.
The only widely available official edition of Glenlossie was the 10 year old in the Flora & Fauna series; it’s not often offered by independent publishers. The Glenlossie 13 year old featured here is part of Signatory Vintage’s The Un-chillfiltered Collection. Distilled on 12th June 2007, it was aged in two hogshead casks (4019 + 4020) and bottled on its birthday, 12th June 2020, at 46% abv and unchillfiltered.
Nose : freshly cut grass, forest floor, green apples and bananas, caramel, vanilla, licorice, a touch of ginger, traces of tobacco and oak shavings.
Taste: grassy-fruity, apples, gooseberries, mirabelle plums, lemon peel, white pepper, vanilla, a hint of fresh herbs and roasted nuts.
Finish : medium long, with notes of hay, garden herbs, lemon peel, vanilla and oak.
