Product description
Opihr is a legendary land that flourished during the reign of King Solomon.
It was here that shipments of silver, gold, and spices were supposed to have arrived, and although its location is not entirely known, it is believed to have been on the trade route between the East and the West. Opihr Gin debuted in October 2013 in Quintessential Brands’ portfolio and was a huge success; it currently ranks seventh in the most popular premium gins. The Far East Edition featured here joined the range in 2019 as part of the “Regional Editions” series. The botanicals used in Opihr’s base formula (cubeb, black pepper, ginger, cardamom, cumin, coriander seed, bitter orange, juniper berries, angelica root, lemon and grapefruit peel) are joined this time by ajwain seed and Sichuan peppercorns, the latter being a key ingredient in the five-spice blend commonly used in Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine.
Opihr Far East Edition is a very distinct and spicy gin with aromas of Sichuan pepper, thyme, lavender and coriander. In taste equally spicy and subtly smoky, pepper, lemon peel, a bit of juniper, ginger and coriander. The producer recommends serving it in the Red Snapper cocktail.
