Product description
The Glenlivet Distillery’s relationship with Gordon & MacPhail spans decades. The company was founded in 1895 and is now arguably the most recognisable independent whisky bottler.
It has thousands of barrels of distillates in its warehouses and, as early as the 1950s, under agreements with distilleries, distributed their single malts. A dozen or so distilleries, including Glenlivet, have signed contracts allowing their whiskies to be included in the Distillery Labels series. Each of them is assigned a unique label, in the case of Glenlivet decorated with the image of a lion. In 1966, Glenlivet Distillery closed its malthouse, and there is a chance that the whisky presented here is one of the last batches distilled from barley malted on site.
