Product description
Lammerlaw whisky is a product of the Willowbank Distillery founded in 1974 by the Baker family in Dunedin, New Zealand.
The distillery was acquired by Canadian conglomerate Seagram in 1981 and a few years later the single malt Lammerlaw debuted. The whisky is named after a mountain range about 50 km from Dunedin. Willowbank finished distilling in 1997 and was sold to beer producer Foster, who soon removed the distilling equipment and put the whisky stocks up for auction. The main buyer was the New Zealand Malt Whisky Company, which soon began selling them under the name Milford single malt. In 2010, the last 443 barrels were purchased by the newly formed New Zealand Whisky Collection.
