Product description
Glenrothes Distillery is based in Speyside and has five pairs of stills and can produce 5.6 million litres of distillate per year.
From 2010 to 2017, the Glenrothes brand was owned by London-based Berry Bros. & Rudd, a famous wine importer and distributor, which focused on vintage whisky editions (the distillery itself remained the property of The Edrington Group). After buying the rights to the brand for an undisclosed sum (the president of Berry Bros. admitted that the offer was impossible to refuse), Edrington changed its marketing tactics and offered Glenrothes in several age versions. The 12-year-old whisky presented here, aged in sherry casks, is part of the new Soleo Collection, whose name comes from the process of drying grapes in the sun, later used to produce sherry.
