Product description
Aberfeldy Distillery is located in the southern Highlands, in the village with which it shares its name. It was built in 1896 by John and Tommy Dewar to supply malt spirits for the family's blends.
Since 1998, Aberfeldy and Dewar's blends have belonged to Bacardi Ltd. The distillery, equipped with four stills, produces about 3.5 million liters of distillate annually, most of which, like a century ago, feeds Dewar's blends. The first official edition of Aberfeldy single malt was released in 1991 (in the Flora & Fauna series). As you can easily calculate, the Aberfeldy 16 year old by Gordon & MacPhail presented here in the Connoisseurs Choice series, containing whisky distilled over half a century ago, precedes it by about a decade.
