Product description
Puni Distillery, the first distillery in Italy producing whisky, is an investment of the Ebensperger family in 2010.
In February 2012, it distilled for the first time, and three years later, it offered its first whisky. The plant is named after the river that flows nearby and, equipped with one pair of small stills, can produce about 80,000 liters of distillate per year. Puni distills from a mash consisting of three malts: barley, rye and wheat. To mature the distillates, in addition to standard warehouses, the company uses bunkers left over from World War II, whose thick, concrete walls ensure a relatively constant temperature and quite high humidity. Puni Gold is a 5-year-old whisky, aged in first-fill bourbon barrels in a standard warehouse.
