Glengoyne expands core offering

Glengoyne Distillery is located a short distance north of Glasgow and is considered one of the prettiest, most picturesque Scottish malt whisky factories. Two steps from the distillery runs the conventional line dividing Scotland into two primary regions, Highland and Lowlands. Some time ago, it was claimed that it runs exactly along the road where Glengoyne is located, making the distillery itself located in the Highlands, while the bonded warehouses on the other side of the road are now the Lowlands. Closer analysis of the description of the aforementioned border leaves no illusions that the actual situation is somewhat different, and the aforementioned narrative has been abandoned. However, this does not change the fact that Glengoyne is one of the southernmost distilleries in the Highlands. In fact, several distilleries in Fife County are located further north than Glengoyne, and they are classified as the Lowlands region.

As the more advanced whisky aficionados well know, it's not what region a distillery formally represents, much less whether its buildings look picturesque against the surrounding hills or not. Important what the distillery has on offer. And in the case of Glengoyne, this has just expanded significantly.

Glengoyne 15yo (43% vol.) is a new addition to the distillery's core offering. This whisky was matured in a combination of sherry and bourbon casks, and the contrast and harmony between these two ingredients is expected to be its greatest asset. According to the manufacturer, this whisky offers accents of malt, fresh hay, dried fruits, citrus and rosehip in its aroma. In taste we should find tropical fruits, cinnamon, vanilla and apples.

Glengoyne 15yo has already taken off and is appearing in more and more regions of the world, in more and more new markets. It is only a matter of time when it will also appear in the House of Whisky Online. The manufacturer's suggested price for a single bottle is £90.

Glengoyne's core range includes four age-declared editions and two additional editions released in batches. These include 10yo, 12yo, 18yo and 21yo, and Cask Strength (currently Batch No. 8) and Legacy Series (currently Chapter 2). The 15-year edition rounds out this offering perfectly, bridging the gap between 12yo and 18yo, including the price gap.

Founded in 1833, Glengoyne is now in the hands of Ian Macleod Distillers. Like Tamdhu of Speyside and the now-restored legendary Rosebank in the Lowlands. Due to its location close to major tourist destinations such as Glasgow, Stirling, Falkirk and Edinburgh, as well as its extremely attractive location and excellent offer, Glengoyne enjoys enduring popularity among tourists, who often start their tour of Scottish distilleries with it. The unparalleled quality of the whiskies on offer here - both in the form of the basic offerings, limited special editions, as well as the opportunity to taste whisky straight from the casks at tastings and the Distillery Exclusive edition offerings - makes a visit to Glengoyne definitely more than just a point on a tourist tour of Scotland.

The House of Whisky Online has on offer a wide range of Glengoyne whisky editions. We invite you to familiarize yourself with it, as well as to visit it regularly. The new Glengoyne 15yo is certainly not to be missed once it arrives with us.
