Ardbeg Ardcore

Ardbeg Ardcore

Traditionally held during the Music and Malt Festival, called Fèis Ìle and held annually on the island of Islay, the last day of the event is Ardbeg Day. This year it falls on Saturday, June 4. It has also become a tradition that on this day, on Ardbeg Day during Fèis Ìle, an edition of the whisky debuts, prepared especially for the occasion.

This year it is Ardbeg Ardcore, whisky without age declaration, prepared on the basis of dark roasted barley malt. As is customary at Ardbeg, this is a whisky bottled without the cold filtration process, in order to preserve the greatest possible spectrum of aromatic and flavor notes. Also, no colored caramel was used, so the color of the beverage is due solely to the barrels in which it was matured.

According to an official announcement from Ardbeg, the new whisky offers touches of marmite (a famous British yeast extract), burnt toast, roasted chicory and ground coffee in its aroma. On the palate we can expect notes of cocoa, dark chocolate, toffee with peanuts and smoked lime. Intriguing tasting notes, you have to admit.

As in previous years, the special edition of Ardbeg will be available not only at the distillery during the festival's Ardbeg Day, but also online, through the brand's partners in each country. In Poland, Ardbeg Committee members will be able to purchase a special limited edition for Committee members starting April 21. Committee Edition is usually a whisky with a similar flavor profile, but bottled in cask strength form, i.e. with a significantly higher strength. The 46% power edition will be available online from May 17 this year.

The price of a single bottle of Ardbeg Ardcore 46% is equal to £100.
