Product description
The Girvan Distillery was built in 1963 by William Grant & Sons to produce grain whisky for their own blends.
The recent upgrade has increased the distilling capacity of the plant to around 120 million litres of distillate per year, putting it on a par with Diageo’s Cameronbridge. While most grain distilleries use corn as their main input, Girvan’s formula is 90% wheat and 10% malted barley. Single grain whiskies are overshadowed by single malts, but in recent years there has been a bit more activity in the category. Girvan Patent Still 25 years old was launched in 2013 and is a prime example of perfectly aged single grain whiskies.
