Product description
Bottle No. 10, 158, 159, 218 / 999
In 1969, the Balblair distillery was owned by privately held Keith-based company Robert Cumming (Canadian Hiram Walker acquired it a year later).
At that time, the distillery produced its own malt, covering its entire demand for this raw material. These facts make Balblair 1969 Vintage a single malt from another era. It debuted in 2012 overseas, and soon appeared in other parts of the world, but the supply of the edition amounted to only 999 bottles. During 43 years spent in the barrel, the "angels reduced" the alcohol content in the whisky to 41.4%.
Nose: depth and complexity of aromas – stewed apples, pears, caramel, honey, sweet spices, traces of mint and peat smoke.
Taste: rich and complex, the sweetness of apples, pears and oranges wonderfully balanced by oak bitterness, vanilla and a distant hint of peat smoke.
Finish: exceptionally long, a duel of apple pie and oak bitterness.
