Product description
Akashi Whisky is a product of the Eigashima (White Oak) Distillery, which has been operating since 1888.
Its main activities are still sake and shōchu, and although the license to distill whisky was granted in 1919, production began over 40 years later. The current distillery was built in 1984 and distills whisky for several months of the year. Akashi blended whisky is a drink with two faces. Intended for the local market, it is composed of malt distillate and sugar molasses distillate, while for export it is made of its own malt distillate and imported malt and grain distillates aged almost exclusively in bourbon barrels. The bottle presented here comes from an export batch.
