Product description
There is a story behind each of Jack Daniel’s commemorative bottlings and Angelo Lucchesi 90th Birthday is no exception.
Angelo Lucchesi was born in 1920 in Memphis. He lost his right arm in a meat grinder accident in early days but despite the handicap he was always full of joy and energy. In the mid 1940s Angelo met Lem Motlow and his four sons and several years later became the first salesman for Jack Daniel’s. The annual sales of the brand were about 100 000 bottles those days and Angelo often joked that he drunk more than that. Things changed when Sinatra became an avid drinker of Jack Daniel’s and Angelo made sure that five cases were shipped each month to his store of choice in Palm Springs, California. Angelo Lucchesi had his share in the brand tremendous success. In 2010, on his 90th Birthday the company honored him with commemorative bottling with only 5500 cases being produced. Two years later, on December 6, 2013, Angelo Lucchesi passed away.
