Product description
Jack Daniel's "Images of Lynchburg" series debuted in 1998. Initially, it was offered in 1-liter bottles only in Europe.
Almost every year a new edition featuring another "painting" was released in the local Travel Retail chain. Around 2001, "paintings" in 750 ml bottles containing 40% ABV whiskey appeared in Canada, and two years later in the native Lynchburg (this time the whiskey had 43% ABV). Currently, the entire series consists of twelve 1-liter bottles/scenes; eight 750 ml bottles (43% ABV) and three 750 ml (40% ABV). The fourth "painting" from Lynchburg is The Whittling man, an artist carving wood with a special knife (without using a chisel). It is also a nod to time, an important factor in both whiskey production and this art form. As the people of Lynchburg say, good whiskey takes time, and it is best spent carving soft cedar wood with a knife. You can't rush the charcoal mellowing process, just like you can't rush carving with a knife alone. Both arts are fading away and perhaps Lynchburg is the only place where they continue today.
