Product description
Eddu whisky is a product of Distillerie des Menhirs, based in Brittany in northern France. The distillery was founded by Guy Le Lay in 1986 and initially produced cider and apple brandy.
He began distilling whisky two years later, and in 1992 Eddu whisky debuted. Eddu means buckwheat in the local language, and the Eddu Grey Rock presented here is distilled from buckwheat, corn, and malted barley. After a basic maturation period in refill barrels, the spirit is placed in French oak barrels. In our opinion, Eddu is the only whisky in which buckwheat plays the main role in the formula.
Aroma: slightly spirituous, vanilla, unripe apples and pears, sweet cereals, buckwheat honey and a trace of hay.
Taste : sweet, cotton candy, vanilla, milk fudge, sweet cereal, caramel and a handful of dry herbs.
Finish : medium long, with notes of vanilla sugar, caramel, fruit candy, and a light herbal bitterness.
