This is a special single-cask Edradour release. The cask was handpicked by singer Douglas Maclean and the whisky is named after his most famous song.
The area of present-day Scotland was called Caledonia during the Roman Empire and was never conquered by the Romans. This whisky was distilled in 1997 and then aged in an Oloroso sherry cask for 12 years. The whisky was bottled in 2009. The label of this whisky is decorated with the Scottish flag, referring to the rich history of the fighting nation.
Nose : sweet and creamy with accents of honey, dried figs, dates, sherry, oak, caramel, mango and papaya
Palate: Full and rich with notes of berries, vanilla, creme brulee, butter, sherry, toasted almonds and oak
Finish: spicy and dry with notes of cocoa, wood and ripe fruit.
