Product description
The Macallan's "Travel" series, also known as "Decades", was compiled at the end of the last century with the aim of showing the evolution of this whisky's character over the four decades of the first half of the 20th century.
Labels depicting a means of transport characteristic of a given decade perfectly emphasize the atmosphere of the era (in the case of the 1950s, it is an airplane). To some extent, the series connects the palette of whiskies with the economic situation of the world. For example, the 1950s are a period of economic recovery after the tragedy of World War II and sherry casks made of Spanish oak are again available. This edition is closest in character to The Macallan offered at the end of the century.
Nose: rich with a strong sherry note, dark chocolate, vanilla, honey, traces of tobacco and peat, hay, cinnamon, cherries, dried plums and polished oak.
Taste: well balanced with a strong sherry influence, almonds, dried plums and figs, cinnamon, cloves, dark chocolate, notes of tobacco and oak.
Finish : long and soothing, lots of sherry and dried fruit with a touch of light spices.
