Product description
Seagram's VO Blend was blended by Joseph E. Seagram in 1913 for his son's wedding. It is difficult to say today whether the "VO" designation should be deciphered as "Very Old" or "Very Own", it was probably a "whiskey for a special occasion".
In 1928, the Bronfman family acquired all of Seagram's assets, and VO soon became one of the mainstays of the commercial offering. It was produced at the Waterloo Distillery, and after its closure at the Gimli distillery. In 2001, Diageo acquired the Seagram brand and moved its production to the Valleyfield Distillery. In the fall of 2018, the Sazerac Company of New Orleans, owner of Buffalo Trace Distillery, among others, purchased 19 brands from Diageo, including Seagram's VO Seagram's 83 and Seagram's Five Star for $550 million.
