Eddu is a French whisky produced at the Distillerie des Menhirs distillery, located near the town of Pomelin in Brittany.
The distillery was founded in 1986 by local businessman Guy Le Lay. The whisky is produced using only grain and products grown in Brittany, including buckwheat. Eddu is the only whisky in the world that contains buckwheat in its recipe. The name Eddu comes from the Breton dialect and means buckwheat. The Silver version is a unique whisky that is made from 100% buckwheat. The whisky is matured in cognac barrels made of French oak.
Aroma : fresh with accents of alcohol, buckwheat, honey, raspberry, orange, oak, lemon sorbet and white grapes
Taste: rich with notes of caramel, pepper, peach, fennel, dried apple, honey and buckwheat
Finish : medium long with notes of anise, cumin, nutmeg and apple
