Product description
Jack Daniel's "Images of Lynchburg" series debuted in 1998. Initially, it was offered only in Europe in 1-liter bottles.
Almost every year, a new edition featuring a different “image” would be released in the European Travel Retail chain. Around 2001, the “images” in 750ml bottles containing 40% ABV whiskey made their way to Canada, and two years later to Lynchburg, hometown (this time, the whiskey was 43% ABV). The series currently consists of twelve 1-liter bottles/scenes; eight 750ml (43% ABV) and three 700ml (40% ABV) bottles. Here we present edition no. 9, The Charcoal Mellowing Process, which differentiates the Tennessee Whiskey category from bourbon. The spirit, removed from the 70% ABV column, is transferred to 3-meter-long vats filled with maple charcoal. Each drop takes about a week to travel through a layer of charred maple, propelled only by gravity. Only now is the distillate poured into barrels to begin a maturation period of at least 4 years.
