Product description
Bourbon Yellowstone is named after the national park that opened in 1872.
The idea came from Charles Townsend, a salesman at JB Dant's Cold Spring Distillery, who, after visiting Yellowstone, came to the conclusion that placing the park's name on the whiskey label would guarantee its success in the western states. The debut date of Yellowstone bourbon is unknown today, it is known that this brand was on sale in 1886, and during prohibition it was included on the list of so-called "medicinal whiskeys". The Yellowstone Select presented here is a blend of Kentucky bourbons, aged for 4 and 7 years. The blend is made at Limestone Branch Distillery in Lebanon, Kentucky, in which the owner of the brand, Luxco Inc., has a stake. In January 2021, Luxco's assets were purchased by MGP Ingredients from Indiana for the sum of $475 million.
