Product description
Laphroaig Distillery remained in the hands of the founding family until 1954, after which the assets of one company passed several times to another.
In the years 1989-2005 it belonged to Allied Distillers (part of the Allied Domecq group). Allied was not very active in terms of promoting single malts , although in 1991 it offered the Caledonian Malts edition , which, in addition to Laphroaig, included Miltonduff, Glendronach and Tormore whiskies. Laphroaig Quarter Cask debuted in 2004 and was met with an extremely warm reception. A young whisky, blended from distillates aged for 5 to 6 years in standard bourbon barrels and finished in so-called quarter casks (capacity 125 liters). The use of small barrels means greater contact with wood, and therefore faster maturation.

Palate: generous helpings of peat smoke, toffee, vanilla, raisins, sweet cereals, lemon pepper, hints of coconut and oak.
Finish: long, vanilla and toffee sweetness balanced by peat smoke and a delicate spicy note.
