Product description
The Tyrconnell brand was launched in 1876 by Alexander Watt, the owner of Watt Distillery. It was named after the racehorse owned by the Watt family that won a prestigious horse race The National Product Stakes that year with odds 100 to 1.
The Watt Distillery closed in 1925 and Tyrconnell label was dormant for over six decades when it was resurrected by John Teeling, the owner of Cooley Distillery. It is currently owned by Kilbeggan Distilling Company, a subsidiary of Beam Suntory. Tyrconnell Single Malt is distilled at Cooley Distillery, aged in white American Oak barrels and bottled without age statement. It scored silver medal at the 2015 International Wine & Spirits Competition.
