The Macallan M is not only the quintessence of The Macallan, but also the crème de la crème of the single malt category.

It is the combined forces of three individuals – Fabien Baron, the famous designer; Lalique, masters in the category of artistic glass and, of course, The Macallan Distillery. The Macallan M does not have an age statement, but we are assured that it is made from the most distinguished sherry casks at the distillery's disposal. The whisky experiences annual limited editions. The year 2023 brought an extraordinary edition of M Black, which uses selected casks of whisky aged in sherry casks, including distillates with a slightly peated profile. The whisky is presented in a black, six-sided crystal decanter designed by Fabien Baron; these in turn express the artist's homage to the six pillars of The Macallan. The decanter rests in an elegant case reflecting the aforementioned six pillars. (Official tasting note).

Aroma: fresh apples, pears and citrus combined with sweet dates and a subtle note of peat.

Taste: candied oranges, grilled pears, honeyed figs and sultanas, followed by dark chocolate and ginger wrapped in peat smoke.

Finish: long, with notes of sweet raisins and peat smoke.
