Jack Wiebers (Lars-Göran Wiebers) is a German whisky importer and distributor based in Berlin (the official name of the company is Jack Wiebers Whisky World).
Wiebers began his career in 1999 and soon established a reputation as a great selector and publisher of whiskies. His portfolio includes several series, the most popular of which are Whisky Castle (discontinued in 2013), Old Train Line, Prenzlow Portfolio Collecton, Great Ocean Liners and Wanted (the latter reserved for the Bowmore single malt). The Auchentoshan presented here, distilled in October 2007, spent over 15 years in bourbon cask no. 3170. The whisky was bottled at 50.9% abv, natural colour and without chill filtration in December 2022 in the Old Train Line series, in an edition of 210 bottles.
Aroma: bouquet of wild flowers, lemon peel, gooseberries, vanilla, honey, sweet bread, candied ginger, notes of hay and toasted oak.
Palate: vanilla pudding, milk fudge, honey, sponge cake, roasted peanuts, green apples, pears, lemon jam, a bit of cinnamon and oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, toffee, summer fruits, white pepper, lemongrass and oak.
