Product description
Glasgow Distillery Company was founded in 2012 by Liam Hughes, Mike Hayward and Ian McDougall.
The first single malt distillery in over a century, Glasgow is equipped with three stills (the fourth is used for gin) and first distilled in March 2015; three years later, Glasgow 1770 single malt debuted. The year 1770 refers to the Dundashill Distillery, which operated nearby from 1770 to 1902. Since 2017, the distillery has also been producing triple-distilled whisky (for one month a year). Distilled in February 2018, the whisky here spent two years and 10 months in first-fill bourbon casks, before being aged in Cognac casks in December 2020 for a further two and a half years. The whisky was bottled in July 2023 in an edition of 1,576 bottles.
