Product description
William Lawson was a Scottish whisky broker who started his own business while still working for Edward & John Bourke Blending Co.
At the beginning of the 20th century, W. Lawson & Company went bankrupt, but in 1972 it was re-registered, this time as a subsidiary of Martini & Rossi. The assets of the latter, together with William Lawson Distillers, were taken over by Bacardi Ltd. in 1993 and within two decades made Lawson's whisky a global brand. In the years 2010-2014, its sales doubled, currently (2021) it amounts to 42 million bottles, which places it in seventh place among the most popular Scotch whiskies. The blend formula is built on the basis of the single malt Macduff and to a lesser extent Aultmore and Royal Brackla.
