Product description
Deanston Distillery began operation in 1966 after converting the buildings of an 18th-century cotton mill (its weaving mill was used for storage).
After a few years of relative success, the distillery ceased distilling in 1982 and only resumed it after being acquired by Burn Stewart Distillers in 1990. Equipped with two pairs of stills, the distillery can produce 3 million liters of distillate per year. Deanston is a key component of the Scottish Leader blend, which sells more than 6 million bottles per year globally. Deanston Virgin Oak debuted in 2010, bottled at 46.3% abv. In 2023, the first batch was released at cask strength (58.5). The whisky was aged in bourbon barrels and finished in virgin American oak barrels.
