Product description
Maison Hennessy was founded in 1765 by Richard Hennessy, who at the age of 20 joined the Irish Brigade and fought alongside King Louis XV of France.
After 12 years of service, Hennessy settled in Charente and started trading in eaux-de-vie. In 1971, Maison Hennessy merged with Moët et Chandon, and since 1989 it has been part of the LVMH empire (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy). The Richard Hennessy presented here is, in our opinion, the most prestigious edition of cognac – a blend of over a hundred eaux-de-vie aged from 40 to 200 years, including extremely rare vintages such as 1800, 1830 and 1860. This centuries-old nectar bears the name of the founder of the company, while the author of the edition presented here is the famous architect Daniel Libeskind, whose CV includes the reconstruction of the World Trade Center in Manhattan, the Jewish Museum in Berlin and the Zhang Zhidong Museum in Wuhan.
Producer's tasting note:
An extraordinary richness and harmony of aromas that have slowly crystallized over the centuries: vanilla, spices, pepper and the equally fleeting and delicate scent of flowers.
In the mouth, a consonance of flavors that cannot be described with words, a mixture of oriental spices and the essence of ripe fruit embellished with the finesse of oak.
