Product description
Ballechin single malt is a tribute from Andrew Symington, owner of Edradour, to the Ballechin Distillery which operated in Perthshire until 1927.
Shortly after purchasing the Edradour distillery in 2002, Symington began producing small batches of malt spirit with a phenol concentration of 50ppm. The whisky debuted in 2006 as Ballechin and immediately became a permanent product. Like the standard Edradour, Ballechin also experiences annual limited editions. The whisky presented here, distilled in May 2004, spent almost two decades in three fresh Manzanilla sherry butts (nos. 269, 274, 275). The whisky was bottled at cask strength (55% abv) and without chill filtration on July 4, 2023 in an edition of 1,846 bottles.
