Templeton Rye whiskey debuted in 2006 from Templeton Rye Spirits LLC based in Templeton, Iowa.

The whiskey comes from MGP Ingredients in Indiana and is distilled from a mash of 95% rye and 5% malted barley. In August 2018, Templeton Spirits began distilling in its own newly built distillery, but for the next few years its editions will be based on MGP distillates. Templeton Rye Barrel Strength debuted in 2018 and received excellent reviews. The fourth edition presented here hit the market in 2022. It is a blend of straight whiskey from different vintages from MGP. In 2021, the rights to the Templeton Rye brand were acquired by Infinium Spirits, which almost immediately changed the presentation of the whiskey (new bottle and label designs).

Aroma : vanilla, brown sugar, buckwheat honey, apple pie sprinkled with cinnamon, baked plantains, cocoa powder, black pepper, notes of dill and oak.

Palate : caramel, vanilla, honey-roasted nuts, buttered pumpernickel, cinnamon, black pepper, mixed dried herbs and toasted oak.

Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, caramel, dark chocolate, black pepper, allspice and oak.
