2022 was a very successful year for Chivas, with sales of the brand increasing by 26% compared to the previous year and amounting to 5.2 million cases.
This result secured it third place in the Scotch whisky sales statistics, as well as a million-case advantage over its closest rival, Grant's. In the same year, Chivas introduced the "Wine Cask Series", the forerunner of which was the 18 year old Grand Cru Margaux Cask Finish presented here. The series was created by Sandy Hyslop, a master blender at Chivas, and in the final maturation of his creation he used casks from the legendary Bordeaux, Grand Cru Margaux. The whisky is bottled at 48% abv and is intended for exclusive distribution in the Global Travel Retail network.
Aroma : heather honey, black cherries, raspberry jam, raisins, toffee, vanilla, milk chocolate, roasted peanuts and toasted oak.
Palate : toast with raspberry jam, strawberries, red apples, orange peel, vanilla, honey, toffee, dark chocolate, notes of allspice and oak.
Finish : very long, with notes of ripe red fruits, honey, chocolate, white pepper and oak tannins.
