Product description
Fercullen Whiskey debuted at the end of 2018 in the Powerscourt Distillery range.
The company was founded in 2017 and is based on the Slazenger estate of Powerscourt in County Wicklow (the word “Fercullen” comes from the Gaelic “Fera Culann,” the name given to the land surrounding the Powerscourt estate). The distillery has three stills and can produce around 1 million litres of spirit a year. Production is overseen by master distiller Noel Sweeney, formerly of Cooley Distillery. This 21-year-old is a single malt whiskey aged in ex-bourbon casks, then partly finished in ex-Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The company does not disclose which Irish distillery the whiskey came from.
