Product description
In 1994, Scotland celebrated 500 years of Scotch whisky.
The first mention of it comes from the Tax Book of 1494 and mentions eight bags of malt given to a monk, John Cor, to produce “aqua vitae”. Over the centuries, the art of whisky distilling has been perfected to make this noble drink an icon and a showcase of Scotland. Many distilleries commemorated this special occasion with limited editions of whisky. The one presented here deserves special attention. Glenturret is the oldest Scottish distillery still in operation. It began work in 1775 as Hosh Distillery, but sources prove that whisky was being produced there illegally for 60 years earlier. The Glenturret 21 years old presented here, released in 1994 in the amount of 500 bottles, has great collector's and historical value today.
