Product description
In 2000, a group of private investors, owners of the distribution company Murray McDavid, purchased the closed Bruichladdich Distillery.
They were joined by Bowmore’s charismatic ambassador Jim McEwan, and the unwanted distillery soon became a model. The Legacy series ran from 2002 to 2007 and featured six incredibly rare whiskies. Here we present the second edition, distilled in 1965, when the distillery was owned by Ross & Coulter, and aged for 37 years in oak casks. They were hand-picked by Jim McEwan. Bottled at cask strength (41.8% abv) and unchill-filtered in 2003, the distillery was an edition of 1,500 bottles. The label features a painting of ‘Loch Indaal from Port Charlotte’ by Frances Macdonald.
