Product description
Built in 1810, the Jura Distillery was unsuccessful for over 150 years.
In 1901, the distilling equipment was removed and it was not until 60 years later, rebuilt and newly equipped, that distilling resumed. Since 1993, it has been owned by Whyte & Mackay and produces 2.4 million litres of distillate annually. In 2020, Jura single malt recorded a 7.5% share of the British market, ahead of Glenfiddich and Glenmorangie. The Jura presented here, distilled in February 2008, spent 15 years in a refilled hogshead cask no. DL 17222. Bottled at 48.4% abv, natural colour and without chill filtration by Douglas Laing & Co. in the popular Old Particular series in February 2023 in an edition of 297 bottles.
