Product description
Glen Scotia Distillery founded in 1832 is one of only three distilleries currently operating in Campbeltown.
After struggling for the most part of the 20th Century Glen Scotia along with its parent company, Loch Lomond Group, was acquired in 2014 by private equity group Exponent, which invested heavily in restoration of the neglected distillery only to sell it five years later to Hong Kong-based Hillside Management. Currently Glen Scotia produces 550,000 liters of spirit per annum, of which 10% is a combination of lightly peated (15ppm) and heavily peated (58ppm) spirit. The Campbeltown Harbour, an entry-level expression, was introduced in the early 2018. The whisky was aged in first fill ex-bourbon barrels and bottled without age statement.
