Product description
In 2021, MGP Ingredients changed the name of its distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, to Ross & Squibb Distillery.
The original distillery was built in 1847 by George Ross, soon joined by his partner William Squibb, and the gentlemen produced excellent rye whiskey. Seagram took over the distillery in the 1930s and after several expansions made it the largest in the country (production capacity of over 100 million liters of distillate per year). Since 2011, it has been owned by MGP Ingredients. Ross & Squibb mainly conducts contract distillation, but after acquiring Luxco Inc. in 2021, it has been building its own "brand portfolio". Rossville Union is a blend of two of its own rye distillates aged for at least five years. Their mash formulas list 51% and 95% rye, respectively. The edition presented here was made from 159 barrels.
