Product description
Isle of Skye Blended Whisky is the creation of island-born blender Ian Macleod, most likely from the 1930s.
It is also a nod to the Macleod clan, associated with the Isle of Skye since the 14th century. Macleod claimed that the whisky formula was developed by his family in the 19th century and includes single malts from the Scottish islands and Speyside and grain whiskies from the North British Distillery. The blend is based on Talisker and Speysider Tamdhu distilled on the island, and the original recipe also mentioned Lagavulin. Currently, the 8-year-old is bottled in small batches. In 2021, the whisky won a gold medal at the International Spirit Challenge. Ian Macleod is the tenth largest producer of Scotch whisky with annual sales of 15 million bottles. His portfolio includes Glengoyne, Tamdhu, Rosebank, Sheep Dip, Pig's Nose, Smokehead, The Six Isles and King Robert II.
