Product description
Aultmore Distillery is located in Speyside, near Keith. It was built in 1896 by Alexander Edward, owner of the Benrinnes Distillery.
The name of the plant (Gaelic for “great stream”) refers to the Auchinderran stream, which provides water for production. Since 1923, Aultmore has been owned by John Dewar & Sons (now a subsidiary of Bacardi Ltd.) and most of the whisky distilled there ends up in Dewar's blends, which limits the supply of local single malt. In 2014, Bacardi took a more active approach to promoting the brand and has been consistently building an official range, the senior of which is the 25-year-old presented here. Current sales of Aultmore single malt amount to just over 125,000 bottles.
