Product description
Glasgow-based Strathclyde Distillery is an investment from London-based gin producer Seager Evans dating back to 1927.
In 1936, Seager Evans Co. acquired Long John Distillers, joining the ranks of whisky producers. Since 2005, the plant has belonged to Chivas Bros., a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard, and equipped with two distillation columns, it produces 40 million liters of grain distillate intended for blending the group's blends, including Chivas Regal and Ballantine's. The main grain input is wheat with about 10% malted barley. The whisky presented here, distilled in November 2005, was finished in a refill bourbon cask no. DL 15576, and was bottled at 48.4% abv in the Douglas Laing's Old Particular series in February 2022. The edition consisted of 249 bottles.
